Poco o casi nada sabía yo de esta ciudad alemana. Lo que había visto eran postales de una ciudad nevada que se encontraba en el corazón de la Selva Negra y poco mas...
Hasta que fui y descubrí su "gran secreto": sus balnearios. Las aguas que salen del subsuelo allí poseen propiedades capaces de curar enfermedades de la piel, de calmar afecciones respiratorias y ( lo confieso, esta es la auténtica razón por la que fui) hacen resplandecer tu rostro.
It was my big unknown German city: Baden Baden. I didn´t feel like going there specially with that odd name until I realised what it means: Spa Spa; so I found out that the city is well know in Germany for its wonderful spas, also that the ancient Romans didn´t want to go futher because of its hot waters and if that wasn´t enought it was where the German Belle Epoque was born.
El emblema de Baden-Baden es su casino, uno de los más bellos del mundo. En el momento en que entras sabes que estás en algo más que un casino. De hecho aquí también se celebran operas y conciertos y, se pueden alquilar sus instalaciones para eventos privados.
Bueno pues llegó la hora. Me voy al balneario a probar las aguas calientes de Baden Baden. Aviso a navegantes. Hay dos termas; en una sólo te dejan entrar desnudo y en la otra puedes entrar en bañador. ¿ En cual creéis que entré?

The curative water rises from a depth of around 6,500 feet under Baden-Baden, reaching the surface at temperatures of between 50°C and 68°C. Mereció la pena volar desde Madrid a Basilea ( la ciudad más cercana a Baden Baden) para conocer esta preciosa ciudad alemana que parece no querer salir de esa Belle Epoque que le dio todo su esplendor.
Y por supuesto para probar las "tapas alemanas de salchicha blanca"; si, si; son las que veis arriba. Yo que no soy nada fan de las salchichas me armé de valor y probé una....y dos...y tres..,
It was worth to fly from Madrid to Basel (the closest city to Baden Baden to know this beautiful German town that, I don´t know why, it seems to me it doesn´t want to leave the belle epoque air it had before.
And..of course to eat its "German Tapas": white sausages. Yes, you can see them above. I am not a fan of sausage but I made a effort and I ate one, and then two, three....
