JUEGA CON LOS TONOS
Es el mejor consejo que me dio un estilista hace mucho tiempo. No hay sólo un color negro, hay muchas tonalidades de negro; no hay un rojo hay miles de tonalidades rojizas y así podemos irnos hasta el infinito.
Trata de evitar el irte a lo fácil; es decir esos azules desteñidos o los marrones clásicos y apuesta por las tonalidades de moda. Por ejemplo, el verde este año es el musgo, el naranja es similar al de las hojas caídas del otoño y el amarillo se vuelve mostaza. ¿A qué de repente todo suena mejor? Pruébalo y juega con las combinaciones.
DIAL DOWN YOUR BRIGHTS
Now don’t get us wrong, there are plenty of colour trends to try out this season, but in a grey world, overly bright shades can be nauseatingly optimistic. To ensure you’re better-hued, look for deeper, richer versions of bright summer shades.
Neutral tones such as grey, black and brown make getting dressed in the dark (a real possibility some mornings) a breeze. But that doesn’t mean you need to go monochrome (although it’s rarely a bad move).
Alongside this, echo the changing leaves with rust rather than orange, moss green in the place of lime and mustard instead of sunshine yellow for an on-trend touch of colour that won’t look like you’ve just stepped off the beach.
RENUEVA TUS COMPLEMENTOS
Y con esto no me refiero a que te compres un sombrero en plan moderno. Cómprate un buen paraguas y cuanto más grande mejor. Queda muy ridículo lucir un traje perfecto y abrir un paraguas barato, medio roto y tan pequeño que te empapas hasta los hombros. Un buen paraguas es una buena inversión que te dará un aire sofisticado.
En cuanto a los bolsos en días de lluvia opta por los impermeables y cuando salga el sol los de nylon son una excelente opción.
Una cosa más; las bufandas. A no ser que te vayas al polo norte cómpratelas ligeras. Lo agradecerás cuando entres en un sitio con la calefacción a tope y te cabrá perfectamente en la bolsa.

INVIERTE EN PRENDAS DE ABRIGO
Como seguramente ya sabrás no es necesario gastarse un montón de dinero en prendas de alta calidad. Pues bien, si lo sabes ¿porqué no lo haces? Ya vale de repetir un año sí y el otro también los mismos abrigos, las mismas cazadoras o ese plumas que, como no lo tires pronto, va a echar a volar solo de un momento a otro. No hace falta que esperes a las terceras rebajas de las marcas de lujo para comparte algo bueno.
Invierte en abrigos de lana (si pueden ser de colores neutros como azul marino, camel o gris mejor).
En cuanto al estilo puedes elegir entre muchísimas opciones. Cazadoras, parkas, bombers, abrigos cortos o largos...tienes una variedad enorme tanto si quieres ir formal o un poco más desenfadado.
INVEST IN YOUR OUTWEAR I

ELIGE MATERIALES DE CALIDAD
Este tema es mucho más importante de lo que parece. A la hora de comprarte cualquier prenda ten en cuenta siempre el material con qué este hecho,; no es lo mismo un jersey 100% lana que otro acrílico o una camisa de algodón de calidad que otra sintética que encoga cuando la laves.
Como norma general elige materiales transpirables para la ropa interior y las camisas o jerseys, impermeables si llueve, lana para los abrigos y materiales como la poliamida si optas por cazadoras que imiten el efecto piel.
En cuestión de calzado busca materiales fáciles de limpiar huyendo de los de piel pero no de los de cuero que son versátiles y fáciles de llevar.
CHOOSE YOUR FABRICS WISELY
Your layering game is a loss if you’re just bundling up in whatever fabrics are to hand. Getting the right material, in the right place, at the right time means you’re as comfortable in torrents as packed trains.
As a general rule, pick breathable cotton or merino for items near your skin, working up to heavier wools next for warmth and then something weatherproof on top, be it century-old gabardine or a space-age polyamide. When it comes to footwear, look for easy-to-clean materials. Mud brushes off leather, but suede will stain at even the idea of drizzle.

Es mucho más fácil de lo que parece y el dilema se repite todos los días. El no saber qué ponerse por encima o el ponerse el abrigo o la cazadora equivocada puede arruinar nuestro outfit final y parecer incluso desaliñados.
Un estilista me dijo una vez que la clave es utilizar las prendas convencionales de toda la vida pero en otras situaciones. Por ejemplo si vas con pantalones vaqueros y camisa vaquera ( todo azul) ponte un jersey rojo oscuro y un abrigo largo color camel. El resultado es sofisticado y original.
Oreo ejemplo.; jersey de cuello alto negro, jersey marrón claro y cazadora vaquera...y así hasta el infinito. Juega con tu imaginación para que el resultado final de tu look sea original y creativo.
LEVEL UP YOUR LAYERING
Next-level layering is one of the few things to love about bitterly cold conditions. Aside from the added ballast that comes with piling on multiple pieces, the greater number of combinations available means there’s less chance of running into your wardrobe twin.
Though you may have a pretty good grasp of the basics (thinner pieces closest to the body etc.), you’ll have to get experimental if you want to mark yourself out as a card-carrying member of club #menswear.
Try using classic pieces in unconventional ways, such as demoting your denim jacket to a mid-layer or wearing a thick-gauge cardigan as a makeshift coat over a roll neck and shirt. Or play around with proportion by ‘reverse layering’ a longline teeunderneath a cropped sweatshirt and bomber jacket for a Kanye-approved way of tackling falling temperatures.
NO OLVIDES LOS ZAPATOS
¿Otra vez con las deportivas o los zapatos negros porque no sabes qué ponerte? Todas las estadísticas dicen que para nosotros el calzado es lo menos importante y siempre acabamos comprendidos los mismos estilos en diferentes colores una y otra vez.
Mi consejo es que tengas zapatos suficientes para cada ocasión; es decir si llueve no te pongas zapatos que te empapen los pies o si hace mucha calor no lleves materiales que te hagan sudar en exceso.
Este otoño invierno se vuelven a llevar las botas y los botines y los hay de multitud de formas y colores. Yo que tú no elegiría los de piel porque ( aparte del tema animal) son difíciles de limpiar y poco prácticos. La opción de llevar algo de cuero es favorecedora y agradable a la vista. Huye de los zapatos de plástico o polipiel como de la peste.
PUT YOUR BEST FOOT FORWARD
Wearing your favourite pair of trainers to death because no other shoe will do? We’re sometimes guilty of it too, but insubstantial footwear plus cold, wet weather is nothing but a recipe for frostbite, or trench foot, or both.
Make sturdy boots your best friend when temperatures tumble. Not only will they look slick with just about any outfit, but they’ll also provide greater traction come snow season.
For off-duty days a pair of worker boots are a no-brainer and are every bit as practical as they are stylish. Don’t forget to give them a regular once-over with the polish, though. One too many trips through the mud and they’ll quickly go from statement-maker to scaffolder chic.
If heading somewhere more formal or wearing a suit, smart leather lace-up or Chelsea boots are an excellent choice as they hit the sartorial sweet spot between form and function.
PON ATENCIÓN A TU CARA
Dicen que el viento fresquito y la humedad de la lluvia son unos aliados estupendos para nuestra piel. Eso es verdad si vives en el campo, pero si estas en la ciudad vas a pasar más tiempo en lugares con la calefacción altísima que en la calle y el viento fresquito sólo lo notarás cuando salgas corriendo tras ver que se te va el autobús.
Así que quítate los prejuicios e invierte en productos estéticos que dan resultado a corto, medio y largo plazo, Comprate una buena crema hidratante que le vaya bien a tu piel, aplícate un exfoliante una vez por semana para quitarte brillos del sudor acumulado y no olvides al salir de la ducha ponerte una body cream generosa y un desodorante que, por favor, no huela a macho-man.
El pelo merece capítulo aparte. El champú tiene que ser hidratante y si tienes problemas de caída vete corriendo al médico que hay solución si lo pillas a tiempo.
BOLSTER YOUR BATHROOM CABINET
Face-numbing winds, sweaty bus rides and cranked up central heating; repeat cycle. The autumn/winter elements (both inside and out) make surprisingly light work of turning your hair and skin into scales, so you’ll need to arm yourself with a specific grooming arsenal to stay looking fresh.
Firstly, stop squeezing the life out of the same tube of lightweight moisturiser you’ve had all summer and replace it with a heavy duty version that works overtime. To that, add a daily exfoliator to slough away dead skin cells that can clog your pores, and finally bolster your bathroom cabinet with a lip balm and hand cream to stop cracks in their tracks.
When it comes to your hair, help your follicles fight the freeze by stocking up on treatments that work to keep moisture locked and flank these with a decent conditioner that also looks after the scalp to avoid flakiness.
