Estareis de acuerdo conmigo en que este año las tendencias de temporada para nosotros son innovadoras, coloridas, calentitas y, sobre todo, sientan muy bien. Nuestro armario poco a poco se va llenando de las novedades que hemos visto en las pasarelas en los últimos meses y, como sé que son muchísimas, yo te las resumo para que no te pierdas entre tanta avalancha de tendencias. Para mí son básicamente 10.
This years street style from Menswear Autumn/Winter 2016 Fashion Week have highlighted a reignited interest in rich, warm colours and materials perfect for inspiring our wardrobes. I have compiled the top street style trends that will keep you looking your best during the cooler months of the year.
1. VERDE ESMERALDA
El verde esmeralda se ha colado en nuestro armario como el color estrella de esta temporada otoño-invierno. Es un tono profundo y versátil que combina a la perfección con otros colores sin llamar excesivamente la atención pero con la sensación de ir permanentemente bien vestido. El verde esmeralda funciona muy bien para las blazers e incluso para un traje de cuerpo entero; no le temas a los tonos más brillantes y opta por los trajes fit. Las bufandas de este tono te darán un aire casual amplificando tu mirada.
1. EMERALD GREEN
Emerald green has stood out as a favourable colour choice in the street style scene across the globe. With its depth and versatility when paired with other traditional hues, emerald green is the ultimate staple for autumn/winter wardrobes. The colour works well for statement jackets and accessories but has also enjoyed a revived popularity in suits. Adopt the trend in fitted suit styles and do not fear a brighter take on the colour to boost the modern appeal of your look. Emerald green scarves also work effectively to lend a jolt of colour to simplistic casualwear, amplifying your looks.
2. CUADROS
A mi los cuadros me recuerdan mucho a los uniformes de algunas escuelas pero los que nos proponen los diseñadores y las marcas son muchísimos más modernos y atrevidos. Es un tono ( o dos, o tres) de color frente a las clásicos azules, negros o grises del otoño/invierno. Me chiflan los tejidos de cuadros rojos, mostazas y verdes; nos dan un aire diferente y se notará tu presencia allí donde estes. Una blazer de cuadros de colores vivos te darán un aire moderno y actual; combínala con piezas mínimas y a triunfar.
2.TARTAN
Reminiscent of private school uniforms, tartan emerges yet again as a popular pattern choice in recent street style looks, featured most prominently in the form of bold suits featuring this classic design. While tartans in traditional colours work well to maintain a classic feel to looks, try experimenting with bolder and brighter versions for a more vivid take on the trend. Reds, mustards and bright greens are a few examples of more daring tartan colour choices that will leave an impression. A bright tartan blazer will work nicely as a focal point for your outfits, so accessorise accordingly with minimal pieces that will sustain a youthful silhouette.
3. FLORAL PRINT
Te guste o no los “floral print” están de moda. Ya lo avisé el año pasado y más de uno puso el grito en el cielo. Ya sabéis que la clave esta en la moderación. Algunos prints pueden ser muy abrumadores por lo que os recomiendo que opteis por los florales en tonalidades más bien oscuras para no dar el cante. La sensación será como de ir vestido para la primavera o el verano pero en los meses de frío. Incorporad al outfit un lazo al cuello y os alegrará la mirada.
3. FLORAL PRINT
Recently popularised in shirts and jackets, the floral print is found in its varying degrees of brightness and boldness in many street style looks. While the trend can be a little overwhelming for most men, florals can work well to lend more dimension to your looks. It also brings the sunnier feel of spring/summer aesthetics to wintery looks for added brightness in the chillier months. Incorporate slim ties in vivid floral prints to brighten up suits or a floral pocket square for a simple take on the trend.
4. PIEL DE OVEJA
La piel de oveja aparece en los diversos abrigos como detalle, pero sirve para mucho más, protege nuestro cuello del frío ante las bajas temperaturas invernales, por lo que además de estar muy de moda, nos viene fenomenal. Este tipo de chaquetas y cazadoras tienen mucha historia, pero este año vienen totalmente reformadas en colores muy clásicos como el beige, el marrón o en negro. Sé que algunos os vais a ver raros con este estilo, pero tratad de tener la mente abierta. Os encantará.
4. SHEARLING
Consistent with the highly textured fur trend, shearling has also been featured heavily on the street. Shearling was spotted in lighter tones, alongside tans and softer browns. These colours work well as staple pieces for the colder months but keep an open mind when it comes to changing up your looks with shearling. Try incorporating the trend with pieces that feature denim for a classic look that is incredibly versatile, particularly for casual looks.
5. SOMBREROS FEDORA
Ya sabeis lo fan que soy de los sombreros. No concibo un outfit sin él y soy un aferrimo defensor de este complemento que nos ha acompañado en nuestro vestuario por casi 900 años. Esta temporada los diseñadores y las marcas apuestan por sombrero de fieltro Fedora clásico y formal que os dará un plus en vuestro vestir del día a día ( y de paso os protegerán del frío y los catarros). Para los más atrevidos os recomiendo los Fedora de colores; potenciarán vuestra ganas de diferenciaros del resto.
5. FELT FEDORAS
An everyday favourite amongst the autumn/winter seasonal staples was a felt fedora hat. Reminiscent of older generations, a fedora, is a subtle nod to old-school dressing. Classic colours like blacks, browns and charcoal greys are versatile and failsafe. Keep in mind that brightly coloured fedoras also work well lending a bit of a colour to the most minimal of looks. Also, be on the lookout for different styles of fedoras, a more modern take on this hat choice is encouraged, allowing you to update your wardrobe in a simple but visually effective way.
6. GUANTES PARA CADA OCASIÓN
Las manos son una de las partes del cuerpo que más sufren los cambios de temperatura. Además de cuidados básicos como la hidratación, ¿qué mejor que protegerlas con unos buenos guantes? Básicamente debemos escoger entre los guantes de piel y los de lana. Los de piel por su calidad perduran mas en el tiempo y se adaptan perfectamente a nuestras manos, son como una segunda piel, por lo que sentimos más libertad de movimiento. Los de lana son los más utilizados, sobre todo para el día a día. Podemos encontrarlos con distintos estampados y colores.
6. STATEMENT GLOVES
There’s nothing like a great set of gloves for the colder season. Gloves should not only be prized for their utility in keeping our hands toasty in chilly weather, but also for their power to change up your esthetic. For a slick look, leather gloves will add shine and dimension offering a retro feel. For a more playful take on the trend, knitted or woollen versions of gloves work wonderfully. No matter how you adopt this trend, keep in mind what you are dressing for, and nominate a glove choice suitable for the occasion.
7. PIEL O POLIPIEL
En este apartado me voy a mojar un poco y apostar por la polipiel; es decir los tejidos de piel sintética. En cualquier caso siempre será vuestra elección. Dicho esto (y en lo que a las tendencias se refiere) me encanta que se vuelvan a llevar este tipo de abrigos o cazadoras; creo que nos favorece muchísimo. Hay una enorme variedad de maneras de interpretar esta tendencia pero, por lo general, utilizad tonos más oscuros para añadir profundidad a vuestro look. Si eres más atrevido, el uso de pieles claras justo encima de prendas más oscuras os darán un punto años 30 que os apasionará. Pero recordad: menos es mas.
7. FUR/ FAUX FUR
Fur has been featured prominently in coat choices as seen on the streets around the globe. Whether you’re pro-fur or anti-fur there is a range of ways to interpret this trend, so harness the warmth that it brings for the chillier months. Our top tip? Adopt furs in darker tones to add depth to your autumn/winter looks that will enhance the more subdued palette of these seasons. If you are feeling more daring, lighter furs will stand out against darker outfits and will create a brighter focal point. Stray from colour when it comes to this trend, less is more and a relaxed approach is essential.
8. CUELLO CARDIGAN
El cárdigan -en su amplia gama de colores y patrones- se reinventa para dejar de oler a naftalina. Otro otoño-iniverno más se erige como tendencia para el hombre que busca en él relajar los códigos clásicos aunque solo sea un poco. Y sí, en la segunda década del siglo XXI, existen múltiples formas de combinarla sin que respire los aires propios de una prenda apta para los abuelos.
Imprescindible para las jornadas de otoño y apta para cuaquier 'casual friday' o noche de copas con amigos que se tercie. Con o sin corbata. Con o sin camiseta. Su versatilidad se deja seducir por otras tantas piezas contemporáneas y la convierte en un símbolo más propio de treintañeros que de setentones.
8. SHAWL NECK CARDIGANS
If there is one item of clothing you’ll most certainly need for the colder months, it is a quality shawl neck cardigan. The ultimate staple piece for classic winter dressing, a shawl neck cardigan will help keep you warm. To spruce up a typical t-shirt and jeans combination, wear a shawl neck cardigan to add a novel touch. If you’re out for dinner or a movie, it will ground your look giving a bit of added character. In many street style looks, we found shawl necks cardigans layered over turtlenecks and other cable knit styles reaffirm their usefulness for winter dressing.
9. CHAQUETAS CUSTOMIZADAS
Que levante la mano quien no haya tenido una mochila plagada de parches, chapas y pins. También valen unos vaqueros, un bolso, una gorra y hasta una carpeta repleta de apuntes. Puede que hayan pasado muchos años desde que aprendiste las lecciones básicas para afianzar coderas con la plancha pero, sumergidos de lleno en la nostalgia noventera que salpica nuestros días, parece que ha llegado el momento de hacerlo de nuevo. No son mis preferidas pero están aquí y, por lo que veo, han venido para quedarse un par de temporadas más.
9. STATEMENT JACKETS
Bold graphics and statement slogans emerged as a consistent feature in jackets, emboldened through vivid colours and novel textures. When we refer to statement jackets, it is not merely that they stand out for their colour alone. These are jackets adorned with literal statements and bold graphics; the street’s playful take on sartorial propaganda. The trick to pulling off this trend is to commit to your look, so do not fear bolder jackets which will tie in nicely with classic staples for more interesting casual looks.
10- SUETERS CON DIBUJOS
Tampoco es que me apasionen pero han llegado y no por obviarlas voy a hacer que desaparezcan así que mejor hablar de ellas y tratar de elegir el dibujo menos irritante posible. Si yo tuviera que ponerme uno de estos suéteres ( algo improbable) elegiría alguno con mensaje que hiciera pensar a los demás sobre temas que a mi me preocupan y que nos afectan a todos. En cualquier caso tengo que reconocer que algunos me hacen gracia como los de anuncios antiguos o alguna que otra caricatura.
10. Novelty Sweaters
Whether it is a cartooned motif or a kitsch retro advertisement, novelty sweaters have been playfully featured on the streets, lending personality to the simplest of looks. The key to choosing novelty sweaters is to adapt it to your personal style. You can wear them in a classic way by selecting versatile and traditional colours. Marle greys will work well to the ground looks, making your outfits more subdued and tame as opposed to overtly wacky and over the top.
