En verano el cuidado de la barba es crucial, sin duda más necesario que en otras épocas del año por problemas como el sudor, la humedad o la exposición directa del sol, por lo que es recomendable seguir una serie de tips para tener una barba 10 sin que le afecte el calor que padecemos u otros condicionantes como el cloro, el viento o la sal marina. María García, responsable de experiencia de cliente de la firma de champús sin sulfatos Dalire, nos cuenta cómo proceder y qué debemos evitar.
In summer, beard care is critical, certainly more necessary than in other seasons due to problems such as sweat, humidity or direct sun exposure, so it is advisable to follow a series of tips to keep your beard in tip-top shape without being affected by the heat or other conditioning factors such as chlorine, wind or sea salt. María García, head of customer experience at sulfate-free shampoo company Dalire, tells us how to proceed and what to avoid.
Corta y siempre hidratada
Es recomendable que la barba en verano sea más corta y esté siempre hidratada, lo que podemos conseguir gracias a super hidratantes y para después, un after shave en bálsamo y sin alcohol. En barbas más largas, son mejor los aceites pero sin abusar, ya que se podría provocar un efecto rebote y producir descamación. Si se encrespa, que suele suceder en zonas de playa, utilizar sobre todo ceras para el acabado/peinado.
It is a good idea to keep the beard shorter in summer and to keep it moisturized, which can be achieved with super moisturizers and, afterwards, a balm after shave without alcohol. For longer beards, oils are better, but do not overdo it, as this could cause a rebound effect and cause flaking. If the beard becomes frizzy, which is often the case in beach areas, use waxes for finishing/styling.
Sí a los acondicionadores y champús específicos
Utilizar un champú sólo para la barba es más importante de lo que podría parecer, son formulados exclusivamente para mantener esa zona con el máximo de hidratación con ingredientes suaves que no irritan: “La piel del rostro es muy delicada y por ello es mejor usar champús que no contengan químicos y sí ingredientes naturales y vegetales como argán, karité o almendras dulces. Lo mismo ocurre con los acondicionadores, que deben utilizarse después de cada lavado, dejando reposar un par de minutos antes de aclarar” – nos explica María García, de la firma sevillana de champús sin sulfatos Dalire.
Using a shampoo just for your beard is more important than it might seem, they are designed exclusively to keep that area with maximum hydration with gentle ingredients that do not irritate: "The facial skin is very delicate and therefore it is better to use shampoos that do not contain chemicals and natural and vegetable ingredients such as argan, shea or sweet almond. The same goes for conditioners, which should be used after each shampoo, leaving them to sit for a couple of minutes before rinsing" - explains María García, from the Sevillian sulfate-free shampoo company Dalire.
Un buen lavado
Un aspecto importante está en su lavado, basta con dos veces al día, con agua y un jabón adecuado para barba. También hay que tener cuidado con el aire acondicionado, que puede hacer que pierda hidratación, por lo que se aconseja llevar con nosotros, y en nuestras vacaciones de playa o montaña, bálsamos específicos con ingredientes tipo manteca de karité.
Washing it twice a day, with water and a suitable beard soap, is an important issue. We must also be careful with air conditioning, which can cause it to lose moisture, so it is a good idea to take with us, and on our beach or mountain vacations, specific balms with ingredients such as shea butter.
Evita la irritación
Esto puede ocurrir si la barba está muy seca o si están creciendo los pelos en ese momento, ya que al afeitarnos estamos dejando el folículo de la raíz muy afilado y al crecer, pincha en la piel y la irrita, causando picor e incomodidad: “Otro motivo es la caspa en la barba que surge como consecuencia de una alteración de la piel, debida a su vez al crecimiento del vello facial. Para que esto no ocurra, debe estar siempre hidratada, utilizando un serum para barba todas las noches antes de dormir. También es conveniente usar una toalla suave parano provocar más irritación, por ejemplo las de microfibra o las 100% algodón son perfectas”- nos cuentan desde Dalire.

To prevent this from happening, it should always be moisturized, using a beard serum every night before going to bed. It is also advisable to use a soft towel to avoid irritation, for example microfiber or 100% cotton towels are perfect"- Dalire tells us.
Que no falte el protector solar
En la piel siempre debemos usar un protector solar específico, pero para la barba podemos encontrar aceites especiales con ingredientes que nos ayudarán con la protección UV. Si combinamos zonas del rostro afeitadas con barba más espesa, es recomendable un gel de afeitado transparente que ayude a ver hasta donde empieza la zona con más volumen capilar. Cada zona tiene su cuidado, pero para la afeitada es conveniente una crema facial o tónico para después, y para la zona de barba espesa un buen cuidado con jabón y aceite, pudiendo usar el jabón en el rostro completo.
On the skin we should always use a specific sunscreen, but for the beard we can find special oils with ingredients that will help us with UV protection. If we combine shaved areas of the face with thicker beard, it is advisable to use a transparent shaving gel that helps to see up to where the area with more hair volume begins. Each area has its own care, but for shaving it is advisable to use a facial cream or tonic afterwards, and for the thicker beard area a good care with soap and oil, being able to use the soap on the whole face.
