Definitivamente creo que podría mudarme a Roma mañana mismo sin pestañear. Ya había estado en esta ciudad varias veces pero en esta ocasión la he visto diferente; más bonita, más colorida, con más personalidad. No sé, quizás sea yo el que ha estado más receptivo esta vez porque Roma es, ha sido y será la "ciudad eterna" que, en cierto sentido, nos une a todos.
Roma es el perfecto ejemplo de ciudad diseñada para embelesar. En nuestros tiempos resulta difícil imaginarnos arquitectos que piensen en embellecer ciudades como lo hacían los maestros italianos de la época. Por eso a Roma siempre hay que volver; para darnos cuenta que lo bello es posible. Sólo hay que apostar por ello.
Un lujo volver a pasear por el Trastevere, tomarse un helado cremoso en Giolitti, comerse una pizza en la Trattoria Il Biondo Tevere con vistas al río Tiber, enamorarse al ver la maravillosa Piazza Navona o la Fontana de Trevi...en definitiva "Buongiorno Roma" un placer volver a verte tan hermosa como siempre.
I think I could move to Rome right now without a blinking. I have been there a few times ago but this time I saw the city a bit different; prettier, more colorful with more personality. Perhaps it was me the one who has changed because Rome was and will be the "eternal city".
I love exploring Rome on foot, losing myself in the tangled lanes of the historic centre and neighbourhoods like Trastevere and Monti. I love the aroma of freshly ground coffee that comes out of the cafes and sharing a carafe of local wine over lunch in a trattoria. I enjoy the gruff humour of the locals and the way they have an opinion on everything. I'm also a history buff, and after 15 years in the city, I still get a kick every time I see the Colosseum or spy St Peter's dome looming over the skyline.
So ,"BUON GIORNO ROMA", it's always a pleasure to see you again as beautiful as always.
Dicen que uno se enamora de Roma lentamente, pero para siempre, con un amor eterno como su propio sobrenombre sugiere. Por eso esta ciudad tiene un significado diferente para cada persona. Unos la adoran sin contemplaciones, otros no soportan sus edificios ni sus calles aparentemente a punto de derrumbarse de un momento a otro.
Yo creo que ninguna ciudad ha sido tan importante para tanta gente durante tanto tiempo. Veo en sus calles un museo viviente en el que se refleja una larga historia hecha de superposiciones de lo clásico, lo medieval y lo moderno.

Créedme, puedes estar una semana en Roma, pateártela de arriba a abajo y siempre te dejarás algo por ver. Lo mejor es que te lo tomes con mucha calma. Es cierto que hay lugares que tienes que ir sí o sí como el Vaticano, el Coliseo, el Panteón etc ( lo mejor es que te compres una guía de la ciudad) y te empapes de una ciudad con más de 3000 años de historia y a la que volverás, ya lo creo que volverás.
Yo reconozco que mis sitios favoritos de la ciudad no son precisamente esos ( que también me gustan...y mucho) Adoro el Mercado de Porta Portesse, la Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta, los gatos de Torre Argentina, el barrio de San Lorenzo y la Centrale Montemartini. Si me buscáis allí estaré.
A trip to Rome is as much about lapping up the dolce vita lifestyle as gorging on art and culture. It's about relaxing into the city's Mediterranean rhythms and idling around the picturesque streets. Una de las cosas que más me puede chiflar de una ciudad son sus curiosidades y Roma da mucho juego. ¿ Sabías que con más de 21 millones de tuits han situado a Roma como la ciudad más atractiva del mundo, seguida de París, Barcelona, Lisboa y Berlín? ¿ Y que El Coliseo está considerado la 6 maravilla del mundo? Aún hay más. Podéis visitar más de 900 Iglesias, beber agua en alguna de sus 2500 fuentes ( todas potables), comer pasta en más de 1500 restaurantes y tomarte alguna de las 22 variedades de café de las que disfrutan los italianos. Podría seguir pero bueno, paro ya.

Sabéis que a mí no me gusta dar consejos sobre dónde ir, qué comer o dónde alejarse; soy de los que piensan que en las ciudades hay que perderse y preguntar a sus habitantes. Ellos te ayudarán más que cualquier guía turística y lo harán de forma desinteresada ( que es lo mejor). Lo único que os recomendaría es que cenéis en el restaurante que más os guste del Trastevere y que luego deis un paseo por la ribera del río ( si puede ser con la persona que más queréis mejor que mejor, claro está). Ya me contareis la experiencia
En fin, os prometo escribir más post sobre esta maravillosa ciudad. La primera vez que la pisé tenía 26 años y me gustó. Ahora con alguno que otro más la he disfrutado por fin con pasión y con ganas de volver. Por algo la llaman la Ciudad Eterna.
A few things have changed since I last visited Rome. I’ve grown older, gone to job to job and become utterly obsessed with travel and discovery. This is because the last time I visited Rome was exactly 20 years ago. Back then I was (quite embarrassingly) your typical well-travelled but ungrateful child. Whilst I was lucky enough to have incredible holidays all around the world with my travel-centric Father, back then would have been much more content chasing people around a swimming pool in Spain than to stare at a bunch of stones older than Christ in Rome.
So thank god I had the chance to go there one more time not only as an adult, but also in serious 5* style. After spending 4 days in Rome just a few weeks ago, I can quite honestly say I have never been so enchanted by another city in my life.
