De todas las decisiones que tienes que tomar a principio de temporada, quizás la del pelo sea la más importante, porque (si todavía lo conservas) es uno de los elementos que más marcan tu personalidad y tu imagen. Dicen que una persona que cambia mucho de corte de pelo, como de foto de perfil en Facebook, no es de fiar.
Bien… yo no pienso así. Todo lo contrario. Considero que quien lo hace demuestra que está atento a su entorno, que presta atención a las tendencias y que seguro que lee THE TRENDY MAN. Y eso me gusta.
Estas son mis recomendaciones ( y las de mi peluquero, claro está)

The theory goes: pick a hairstyle that works and cling onto it for dear life.
But before you bound down to your local barber, take a look at these five key hairstyle trends for AW17, which have been given the seal of approval by some of the industry’s most follicularly informed experts. This is, literally, cutting-edge style.
EL FLEQUILLO “NOVENTERO"
La gran tendencia para el invierno es la de recuperar esos flequillos largos que tanto se llevaron en los 90. Son flequillos ligeros aunque largos. Se peinan hacia delante y si os fijáis bien os daréis cuenta que el cabello se lleva como escalado, imitando un poco el tipo de peinado que para este estilo se aplica en las mujeres.
Otra opción, incluso más recomendable, para este tipo de peinado es la de llevar todo el flequillo hacia un lado de modo que os quede tan estiloso como veis en algunos fotos abajo.
MILLENNIAL CURTAINS
To make sure you’ve got the AW17 update and not the Backstreet’s Back version, I recommend letting your barber know you want loose, long curtains. If you don’t currently have enough hair length, they can cut the shape in. Your barber should use a round layering technique to give the hair the shape and texture required.
Styling is relatively easy: dry the hair forward using a paddle brush, then sweep back when dry; apply hairspray or a light pomade to your palms and push through your hair, working your fingers out to either side. You’re ready to get up off the stool for the chorus key-change.
CABEZA RAPADA
Sorprendentemente el pelo al cepillo va ganando cada vez más adeptos. Es sencillo conseguirlo, es cómodo y da un aura de seguridad en uno mismo y sensualidad, aunque también de seriedad, porque recuerda a lo relacionado con el ámbito militar. Va a ser una de las tendencias de este otoño/invierno sin duda. Conviene advertir de que a veces el resultado del pelo rapado no es el que uno espera. Les quedará mejor a los hombres con cabezas más redondeadas, y con frentes poco prominentes. A aquellos con una frente tipo Rihanna, se le podría echar en falta un pelín más de pelo en el flequillo. Así que antes de coger la maquinilla, puedes pedir consejo a tu estilista o peluquero de confianza.
THE SKINHEAD
Ah, the skinhead, a haircut that has the unique ability to make you look like either a vintage David Beckham or a vintage hooligan. Undeterred by previous bad PR, this follicle flashing cut is staging a comeback among respectable menswear types.
If you’re not as cool as Frank Ocean, you should probably give the bright green dye job a miss for now. And if you’re on the fence about the cut’s severity, I suggests toning it down a bit. A high fade with more length on top and a natural finish at the front is popular at the moment and more forgiving, too.
Yes, you’re going to have to see a lot more of your barber to keep this style in check, but day to day all it requires is a little scalp oil to add nourishment and lustre. Ergo, it’s impossible to have a bad hair day.
REIVENTANDO EL TUPÉ
El peinado clásico de ejecutivo se reinventa apostando por la naturalidad. Se trata de un corte de pelo despuntado y despreocupado que se integra a la perfección con un look entre formal y de calle. Un estilo que sienta bien a todos los rostros pues es flexible y se puede adaptar, equilibrando al máximo los rasgos faciales.
Además, es fácil de peinar con los dedos y de mantener con raya al lado. Para crear estas ondas en cabellos más finos o lisos lo ideal es utilizar un producto de styling tipo pomada para los cabellos más foscos y tipo spray de sal para los más finos que ayudan a potenciar las ondas naturales, e incluso crear nuevas.
THE LOOSE QUIFF
The loose, textured quiff riffs on the good hair history of the pompadour, but is a classic style worn longer for dramatic effect.
As with any quiff hairstyle, you’re going to need hair, and lots of it. Thicker hair works best to ensure that there is a good ‘wave’ shape.
Face shape is no problem (phew) but you’ll need to ask your barber to get creative.
Styling will require a bit of technique to achieve the best results. Start by applying two to three squirts of salt spray to the roots of damp hair before blow-drying backwards with either a round or vent brush. Next, create the looseness by working a small amount of styling paste through from root to tip with a wiggle motion the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll would approve of.
EL ESTILO "CHICO MALO" FRANCES
Es mi opción preferida. Laterales y nuca muy limpios, muy marcados y sin patillas, pero conservando en la parte superior de la cabeza un determinado largo que nos permita darle versatilidad al corte. La parte superior del cabello se corta con un flequillo “al tabique”, un corte con un movimiento más redondo, con la frente cubierta, el cabello va hacia la cara. Es un corte perfecto para poder jugar con diferentes peinados: nos permite hacer un tupé, un wet look o simplemente peinarlo con un poco de cera para un estilo más desenfadado. Sencillamente genial.
THE LONG FRENCH CROP
For anyone with thicker or less obedient hair, this should be music to your rebellious follicles. The cut turns what can be a styling nightmare into an advantage because the texture can hide cow’s licks and other unruly elements. It just looks like you styled them that way.
That gives the style’s the whole ‘woke up like this’ French thing and, merci-fully, once you’ve nailed the cut, styling is a pretty laid-back affair too. I would suggest a dry styling product to create some structure and texture, pulling the hair forward into a long heavy fringe. Finish it off with a thumbnail-sized amount of styling clay and mould into place.
Et voila.
EL FLEQUILLO “INGLÉS"
Es la última tendencia ‘street ’; un corte cómodo, práctico y perfecto para afrontar el otoño/invierno y que favorece a aquellos hombres con una fisonomía craneal adecuada y unos faciales muy definidos. Deja el cabello corto a la mínima expresión, pero la sensación no es tan radical. Esta opción más relajada al repaso completo es la que lucieron los modelos de Versace y Givenchy en la pasarela de París.
Este corte es más conocido como el corte “Mr Spok”, el de Star Trek, y está muy recomendado para todos aquellos que les guste no complicarse mucho con el pelo ( sobre todo a primera hora de la mañana antes de ir a trabajar).
THE CROPPED BLUNT FRINGE
Suspend disbelief (and logic) for a moment because Star Trek’s Spock is this year’s most unlikely source of hair goals. Before you spit out your food, yes we’re being serious and no, we’re not trying to ruin your chances on Tinder this weekend. For cropped blunt fringe hairstyles done well, take a look at pretty much any men’s catwalk from the last 12 months.
Aside from its #menswear credentials, it’s a pretty democratic haircut, too. This style is best suited to straight hair, but works well on most hair types due to its short length.
All face shapes are welcome here, although those blessed with a square jaw will have the most success with this look. It’s another inventive take on the short, back and sides, so Robinson advises asking your barber for tight and faded sides with a blunt cut forward fring.
