Uno ya sabe que cuando va a ver una exposición del Conde Duque en Madrid la cosa promete. Y si encima es en la Sala de Bóvedas del Centro, una instalación llena de encanto y misterio, la sorpresa puede ser mayúscula.
La muestra, que bajo el título Super Superlike: Impulsos digitales y emotividad digital agrupa a una veintena de artistas nacionales, es uno de los mejores ejemplos de eso que actualmente está en boca de todos: el metaverso. Pero hay mucho más, representaciones de todo eso que ya hemos normalizado como la conectividad permanente, la múltiple reconstrucción del yo, la disolución de la pantalla o la engañosa empatía del me gusta.
Creedme, no os va a dejar indiferente. Es una muy interesante y visual reflexión sobre el hacia dónde vamos sin apenas reflexionar en nada.
When you visit an exhibition at the Conde Duque in Madrid, you already know that it is promising. And if it's held in the Center's Sala de Bóvedas, an installation full of charm and mystery, the surprise can be even bigger.
The exhibition, entitled Super Superlike: Digital impulses and digital emotivity, brings together twenty national artists and is one of the best examples of what is currently on everyone's lips: the metaverse. But there' s much more, representations of all that we have already normalized as the permanent connectivity, the multiple reconstruction of the self, the dissolution of the screen or the deceptive empathy of the like.
Believe me, it will not leave you indifferent. It is a very interesting and visual reflection on where we are going without hardly reflecting on anything.
La muestra busca reflexionar sobre nuestra relación con el mundo digital a través de obras audiovisuales, instalaciones, escultura, fotografía y proyectos multimedia. Las obras son una selección de las mejores propuestas desarrolladas en los últimos años y que muestran la innovación artística de la escena más contemporánea de nuestro país.
Todos ellos deliberan críticamente sobre el avance paulatino de las nuevas tecnologías, el arte y las nuevas formas de lo visible.
De este modo, se rememora la historia de esta evolución desde su origen en la década de los años 90 con los primeros hubs, cibercafés y las tecnologías libres y compartidas hasta la actualidad, donde su uso se ha normalizado y extendido en la vida cotidiana. Un hecho que ha invadido por completo la forma de pensar de la persona, la composición y el diseño de las nuevas imágenes, sonidos y gestos, y su modo de moverse en el mundo.
The exhibition seeks to reflect on our relationship with the digital world through audiovisual works, installations, sculpture, photography and multimedia projects. The works are a selection of the best proposals developed in recent years showing the artistic innovation of the most contemporary scene in our country.
All of them critically deliberate on the gradual advance of new technologies, art and the new forms of the visible.
In this way, they recall the history of this evolution from its origin in the 90s with the first hubs, cybercafés and free and shared technologies to the present day, where its use has been normalized and extended in everyday life. A fact that has completely invaded the way people think, the composition and design of new images, sounds and gestures, and the way they move in the world.
Viendo esta exposición no puede uno dejar de reflexionar en el momento de histeria en el que vivimos con todo el planeta conectado como nunca lo había estado antes.
Y así es. Algunas de las obras entran de lleno en estas cuestiones, planteando más preguntas que respuestas. Permeando ese espacio poroso y líquido del que ya formamos parte y planteando que esto no tiene que ver con una desconexión, sino con entender cómo relacionarnos con lo digital. En otras palabras, tener una conciencia crítica de lo digital.
Parafraseando a Remedios Zafra, que es la autora de uno de los dos textos del catálogo de la exposición, podemos decir que todo lo digital se ha hecho doméstico: “Pasea por nuestros ojos con zapatillas acolchadas y teclado manchado por café y migas del desayuno. El mundo online se nos ha normalizado suave y crudamente”. No se me ocurre una forma más bella y a la vez tan dura de poner sobre la mesa algunas de esas problemáticas que los dos curadores plantean en este viaje a la realidad que nos rodea. Quizás sea necesario aproximarse de otra manera.
Looking at this exhibition it is impossible not to reflect on the moment of hysteria we are living in, with the whole planet connected as never before.
And so it is. Some of the works enter fully into these issues, raising more questions than answers. Permeating that porous and liquid space of which we are already a part and posing that this has nothing to do with a disconnection, but with understanding how to relate to the digital. In other words, having a critical awareness of the digital.
Paraphrasing Remedios Zafra, who is the author of one of the two texts in the exhibition catalog, we can say that everything digital has become domestic: "It walks through our eyes with padded slippers and a keyboard stained by coffee and crumbs from breakfast. The online world has been gently and crudely normalized for us." I can't think of a more beautiful and at the same time so hard way to put on the table some of these issues that the two curators raise in this journey into the reality that surrounds us. Perhaps it is necessary to approach it in a different way.
¿A qué no os ha dejado indiferente? Merece la pena sumergirse en este aparentemente caótico mundo digital que nos ha contextualizado el Conde Duque para replantearnos nuestra relación con la tecnología.
Quizás vayamos demasiado deprisa, no sé.
