Para Alejandro Annicharico la fotografía es tan solo un medio para registrar su universo creativo, que bebe del teatro, la performance, la moda y la música. Los personajes ficticios protagonizan sus obras. Figuras humanas delicadas, sacadas de un mundo onírico e irreal, se unen a objetos de nuestro día a día: un tenedor, un coche estrellado, una avioneta, o un bate de béisbol roto se convierten en extensiones del cuerpo y nos transportan a un lugar alejado de la realidad.
Yo lo acabo de descubrir y no puedo parar de mirar ( y admirar) su obra.

With a fixation in the human body as a raw material for the realization of his projects, Alejandro Annicharico produces photographs that banish us from reality and take us into parallel worlds. The visual allegories produced, dissect men and women’s flesh to the delight of the photographer and the viewers. Singular objects and deliberate gestures try to tell us something through an indecipherable game that confronts us in every photograph. Somehow, Annicharico is laughing at the human condition and social inventions that constitute its environment.

Su incursión en el mundo del arte fue en el año 2008, a sus 17 años, cuando una de las galerías más importantes de su colombia natal (La Cometa) comprara una de sus fotografías para su colección de arte. Desde ese momento, hizo del arte su camino a seguir.
Con una fijación en el cuerpo humano como materia prima para la realización de sus proyectos, Alejandro Annicharico hace fotografías que nos sacan de la realidad y nos adentran en mundos paralelos. Alegorías visuales producidas disecan la carne de hombres y mujeres para el deleite del fotógrafo y de los espectadores. Objetos singulares y gestos premeditados intentan decirnos algo a través de un juego indescifrable al que cada fotografía nos enfrenta. De alguna manera, Annicharico se está riendo de la condición humana y de los inventos sociales que constituyen su entorno.
His foray into the art world was in 2008, he was17 years old, when one of the most important galleries of his native country Colombia (La Cometa) bought one of his photographs for his art collection. From that moment on, he made art his way forward.
What Annicharico proposes is not a random mutation; these “static” bodies, arranged in an ornate setting, are the product of visual ideas that pursue the photographer. He makes and remakes the images in his mind until they are produced. The image - of course - only ends up being (in the aesthetic sense of “being”) in this intimate space where artist, camera and object-subject to photograph converge. Annicharico achieves a kind of human objectification that is seductive and engenders a fetishist force.
¿Qué os ha parecido? Yo creo que las imágenes, fuertes, poderosas y seductoras cobran un sentido narrativo cuando son capaces de despertar emociones e intriga. Es precisamente ese sentido místico, y un tanto oscuro, lo que Alejandro Annicharico entrega en cada una de sus obras.
La sinceridad en cada uno de sus trabajos, las imágenes que hablan de renacimiento y de anhelos, todos estos componentes hacen de Alejandro Annicharico un artista visual capaz de relatar historias completas con sólo una imagen.
Thus, in his photographs, the portrait has a leading roll, but not in the category of representing individuals, Annicharico wants to see us all portrayed through that “objectifying” image treatment. His work is an approximation to other material forms, where the bodies achieve the inert, they solidify to be at the height of objects and garments made for dramatization.
There is a drama in these “characters” which is petrified by the exploits of the photographer. Annicharico is obsessed with a contemporary form of surrealism, with contemporary signs which are anchored in other historical temporalities and - essentially - in non-existent spaces. In his projects inhabits a kind of melancholy, even with the artificiality that his images contain.
