¿Te has pegado ya el primer chapuzón de 2018? No sufras, lo mejor es que todavía quedan muchos meses de verano, muchas mañanas en la playa, tardes de piscina y noches de chiringuito donde el bañador es tu mejor amigo. ¿Tienes muchos? Sí. ¿Te va a hacer algún daño tener alguno más? Pues seguramente no, así que mejor arriesgarse que quedarse cortos.
Y antes de ir al grano una pocas cosas pero muy importantes. Lo primero: que se pueda secar rápidamente, nada de algodón gordo. Después, que lleve un pequeño slip interior para proteger nuestras partes más valiosas y no acabar el día de playa con un montón de rozaduras. Y por fin, si lleva un pequeño bolsillo exterior mejor que mejor, siempre muy útil para poner los 3 euros que necesitaremos para comprar un helado (sin azúcar).

To make matters worse, upgrading your trunks from duty-free afterthought to a first-class fit isn’t as easy as it seems. If every street’s a catwalk, every beach is a minefield.
So to help you nail poolside cool this summer, we’ve picked the five trends every man should be buying into. We’ll keep it brief(s). Sorry.
Look militar
El look militar ha sido una de las tendencias más recurrentes en los últimos años y , definitivamente, ha llegado a las playas. Si tus piernas parecen dos hilos colgando esta es la forma y el color que más te va a favorecer para darte una apariencia un poco mas “cachas”.
Sin embargo, ojo con la talla. No te compres una XL por ir más cómodo si tu talla es una M ya que al añadir tela al bañador acentuamos el problema y tus piernas aún parecerán mas flacuchas.
En cuanto a la longitud, los bañadores estilo Action Man deben mantenerse a la mitad del muslo para superar cualquier connotación de surfista. Y los colores que más favorecen son el verde u el kaki.
Action Man
The military-inspired look has been one of the most prevalent trends of recent decades, and it’s now gone full circle to storm the beaches. Perfect if stripping down to your shorts has you feeling slightly vulnerable, enlisting the armed forces can add some rugged manliness to even the skimpiest of swimwear.
If your legs resemble pieces of string, then these shorts are a great choice. The busy pattern will add some much-needed width and bulk to your legs by drawing the eye outwards. Don’t go for acres of fabric though. Ensure the hem of the legs is not overly wide which will only accentuate the problem. Go for a slimmer cut instead.
As for length, Action Man-style shorts should be kept to mid-thigh level to outflank any surfer dude connotations.
A Rayas
Importante: los bañadores cortos blancos a rayas son tendencia oficial de moda masculina para esta temporada. Así que ya lo sabéis, este verano no os pueden faltar en vuestra maleta un par de ellos que combinan con muchísima facilidad con una camiseta blanca normal y corriente, unas alpargatas y un gorro estilo bretón ( de esos que parecen de paja). Es el look perfecto para un día relajado y tranquilo.
En cuanto a llevar las rayas verticales u horizontales, pues eso depende. Yo te recomendaría que si tienes unos kilos de más optes por las verticales ( hacen más delgado) aunque las horizontales son mis preferidas
The White Stripes

White striped shorts are officially menswear’s go-to trend this season. In particular, swim shorts with bold vertical stripes are trending as they can be easily paired with a basic T-shirt and flip-flops or espadrilles for a laid-back, stylish day-to-night look this summer.
Flower Power
Como os dije al principio os bañadores de hombre se están reinventando. Por suerte ya no queda ni rastro del bañador surfero por debajo de la rodilla ni del más corto de estilo corredor que tantos adeptos ganó el pasado verano. También los colores varían en los modelos lisos y los estampados florales se llevan la palma junto a los tropicales, en otras palabras Viva el Flower Power.
Si siempre te había dado un poco de corte llevar unos bañadores de estilo hawaiano o los considerabas demasiado horteras, ahora te los puedes poner sin ningún tipo de pudor.
Palmeras, piñas y flamencos en tonos vivos insuflan el ambiente tropical en las colecciones de muchas firmas, mientras que otras se van a lo puramente salvajes a través de animales, a las flores exóticas o incluso a la estética planetarias. El secreto está en no pasar desapercibidos ( sobre todo en tus fotos en Instagram)
Flower Power
Botanical prints have made the jump from female favourite to everyday essential for men, and there’s no better time to dip your toe in the water than when on holiday.
Floral shirts worn under a summer suit add a sense of fun to an otherwise staid look. The same can be said for when you’re (almost) in your birthday suit. For the most flattering look, scale the size of the florals to your frame: if you have a small frame go for a smaller sized floral and if you have a larger frame you can take a bigger print.
If you’re print-shy all year round, florals provide the easiest way to dip your toe into the water. If you usually wear plain colours this is a fun way to get some print into your life, with the added bonus of not having to worry about what you’re going to match them with.
Hawaiian prints and tropical foliage make great Instagram-fodder. However, if you’re on the pale side, go for something with a dark background to avoid looking washed out.
Monocolores
Si eres de los más clásicos y ves que nada de las últimas tendencias se ajusta a tus preferencias, opta por los bañadores de un solo color. Son, sin duda, apuesta segura ya que te sentirás cómodo en cualquier ocasión.
Sólo asegúrate de elegir el color adecuado según tu tono de piel. Sólo evita el negro a toda costa, ya que no funciona a la luz del sol y puede ser implacable con tanta piel expuesta.
Si careces de vitamina D o no has tenido tiempo de broncearte antes de ir a la playa, opta por los colores verde oscuro, burdeos o azul marino (sientan bien en los cuerpos de botellas de leche). Si tienes una piel más oscura, busca algo más vivo. Las tonalidades de azul cobalto, verde lima y amarillo brillante te ayudarán a destacar, o ir a Baywatch completo con pantalones cortos rojos, si eres menos propenso al aspecto de la langosta
Block Party
The best way to ensure that all your snaps are on point is to avoid clashing prints with your mates. Not only will images featuring simple block-colour swimwear not date as quickly, you’re also more likely to find a single shade that flatters you than a whole pattern.
Just make sure you pick a shade that suits you and accentuates your colourings, otherwise it can be disastrous for your skin tone. Avoid black at all costs as it doesn’t work in the sunshine and can look unforgiving with so much skin exposed.
If you’re lacking in vitamin D or didn’t have time to get a spray tan before jetting off, opt for deep green, burgundy or navy hues. They sit well on milk bottle bodies. If darker skinned, go for something more vivid. Shades of cobalt blue, lime green and sunshine yellow will help you stand out, or go full Baywatch with red shorts seeing as you’re less prone to the all-over lobster look.
Old School
El estilo retro a los años 80 y 90 se actualiza esta temporada y da un giro de tuerca acortando un poco la longitud de los clásicos boxer, como hace Tommy Hilfiger en muchos de sus modelos, o retomando diseños como el de los shorts deportivos ochenteros, como hace Calvin Klein. Se imponen los de secado rápido.
La mayoría de las veces, los bañadores de inspiración retro vienen en forma de línea A, con orificios más anchos para las piernas para retener la silueta retrograda. Si bien es un corte halagador que hará que se te vea proporcionado (especialmente si eres más grande arriba), deja mucho espacio para, por así decirlo, aletear. Así que asegúrate de que estén alineados para evitar que todos puedan echar un vistazo a Harry y a Sally cuando te tumbes en la tumbona.
Old School
The appeal of retro sportswear is as present as ever, and now nostalgic swimwear trends are diving in too. This season, designers have taken their lead from the old-school vibe and updated it, to help you avoid looking like your old gym teacher on swimming lesson day.
You’ve got to have the whole look down, so try wearing them with some equally retro sunglasses. For a reference point, take inspiration from James Bond: he did retro shorts well.
More often than not, retro-inspired shorts come in an A-line shape, with wider leg holes to retain the throwback silhouette. While it’s a flattering cut that’ll make you look in proportion (especially if you’re larger up top), it does leave a lot of room for, err, flapping. So ensure they’re lined to save giving everyone a peek of Harry and Sally when you lay back on the lounger.
