No me puedo perdonar que durante todo el tiempo que pasé el año pasado en Nueva York no pisara la mítica Magnolia Bakery que tanto le gustaba a Carrie Bradshaw en la mítica serie Sexo en Nueva York ( y eso que estaba a tan sólo tres calles de mi casa).
Menos mal que todo tiene arreglo.
Para los fans de la serie de TV 'Sexo en Nueva York' no necesita presentaciones. Para el resto, Magnolia Bakery es sinónimo de cupcakes o tartas con un sello neoyorquino inconfundible que puedes probar solo por un tiempo limitado en Madrid.
Y es que no era muy raro ver capítulo sí, capítulo no cómo Carrie Bradshaw (el personaje que Sarah Jessica Parker interpretó durante años en la serie), sola o acompañada de alguna de sus amigas, hacía una parada de rigor en este punto dulce de Manhattan.
La pop up store, que esta en el Gran Hotel Inglés de Madrid (C/ Echegaray, 8), recrea visualmente la icónica tienda neoyorquina y además nos trae algunas de las elaboraciones favoritas de sus fans, desde el cupcake preferido de Carrie hasta la auténtica cheesecake de NYC o su famoso pudin de plátano. Todo ello, preparado y servido por el equipo neoyorkino de Magnolia Bakery.

Yo, que era un auténtico fan de la serie, le tengo que agradecer a Carrie y a sus amigas el habernos descubierto poco a poco a través de sus innumerables paseos por Nueva York nuevos hot spots que ahora son iconos de la ciudad de los rascacielos y, sin, duda, Magnolia Bakery era uno de ellos.
Es más, ni Carrie Bradshaw sería la misma sin los ideales y deliciosos cupcakes, ni mucho menos está pastelería sería mundialmente conocida sin ella. Los fans de la serie saben que si viajan a Nueva York tienen que pasar sí o sí por uno de estos establecimientos, aunque el mítico, en el que se rodaron algunas escenas de la serie, es el que está situado en el 401 de Bleecker Street (lo digo por si vas a ir próximamente).
I really was a true fan of the TV show so I have to thank Carrie and her friends for having discovered me through their innumerable walks through New York, new hot spots that are now icons of the city of skyscrapers and, without a doubt, Magnolia Bakery was one of them.
I believe Carrie Bradshaw wouldn't be the same without the great and delicious cupcakes, and the bakery would be known worldwide without her. Fans of the show know that if they travel to New York they have to go through one of these establishments, although the real one, in which some scenes of the series were filmed, is the one located at 401 Bleecker Street.
