Ya sabéis lo que me gusta descubrir nuevas cuentas de instagram. Esta en particular me fascina. Se trata de la artista italiana Giulia Bernardelli ( @bernulia) que utiliza los restos del café, el te o chocolate a la taza para crear fantásticas obras de arte. Su cuenta es un placer para los ojos. Es seguramente mucho más difícil de lo que parece porque a todos se nos ha derramado el café y por mucho que le demos a la imaginación de ese desastre no sale nada. Pero a Giulia si.
Por lo visto todo empezó por casualidad cuando se le derramó un café y , en vez de ver un caos, vio diferentes tonalidades de marrón. Empezó a jugar con ellas y salieron rostros y figuras maravillosas.
Por cierto si alguno/a ha encontrado alguna cuenta en Instagram que merezca la pena seguir, decídmelo para seguirlo yo también. Mientras tanto os recuerdo la mía @miguelbiedma ( just in case...)
I am loving this art from Instagrammer Giulia Bernardelli ( @bernulia) , created totally from coffee stains (but I've snuck one made from chocolate in there too). Her account is just a joy to follow. Seriously, I’ve spilt a million coffee cups and never thought about doing anything this creative with the result. Bernardelli began painting with coffee by chance almost a year ago.
It started with an accident -- she knocked over a cup of coffee, but instead of seeing the mess, she saw the many rich shades of brown and the possibility to use them to create something new. Even now that she's developed a system to create these paintings, she still loves the spontaneity of the spill. Right then folks, who has found some other cool Instagram accounts for us to follow? En las muchas entrevistas que le han hecho a Giulia tras poner en Instagram sus creaciones, ella siempre se muestra discreta y tímida. Dice que el secreto es imaginar el potencial de los materiales fuera de su contexto habitual; de esta forma el café, la mermelada, la nutella, el vino etc ya no son cosas para comer o beber sino los utensilios de un artista. Lo demás sale solo, eso sí, con una buena dosis de imaginación y buen humor.
Bernardelli says that the secret to her art is imagining the potential of the materials. Things like coffee, jam, wine, or Nutella can become artists' media if imagined outside of their everyday roles as food and drink. She also never plans out her work, letting the inspiration come to her, trusting her instincts to tell her when a smear of honey or a spilled drop of liqueur will make a good composition. "When I drink coffee, I reflect on the nuances that I could create if I flipped it on the table," Bernardelli explains. "At breakfast, I can imagine the footprints left by a cat who walked into the jam."
Desde luego viendo esto, quién necesita lápices o rotuladores si se tiene imaginación. Y eso es lo que derrocha esta chica de 28 años licenciada en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de Bolonia y que en la actualidad trabaja en un museo para niños. Giulia asegura que ninguna de sus creaciones están planificadas con antelación, que todas son obras del momento, de su estado de animo y poco más.
