Aquí van una serie de consejos sobre cómo limpiar tus zapatillas blancas y dejarlas como nuevas en un periquete.

Well, the good news is that all is not lost. With little effort, your white sneakers can look their best again. And, although it is a painstaking task and requires dedication, cleaning them and getting them ready can usually be done with products and tools that we all have at home.
Here are a few tips.
Agua jabonosa tibia: Sirve para limpiar zapatos de casi cualquier material, sólo tienes que añadir una cucharadita de lavavajillas líquido a una taza de agua tibia y remover. Con un paño o cepillo de dientes, frota suavemente el zapato hasta que quede limpio, retira el exceso de agua y déjalo secar al aire durante varias horas.
Bicarbonato sódico y vinagre blanco: Ideal para zapatillas de lona, pero también sirve para otros tipos de calzado. Mezcla una cucharada de agua caliente con una cucharada de vinagre blanco y una cucharada de bicarbonato de sodio hasta formar una pasta. Utilizando un cepillo de dientes, aplícala a los zapatos con movimientos circulares y deja que se aireen durante varias horas antes de cepillarlos y sacudir la pasta seca.
Lejía muy diluida: Es un método muy eficaz para limpiar zapatos de tela, siempre que lo hagas en un lugar bien ventilado y protejas tu piel y tus ojos. Prepara una solución a base de una parte de lejía y cinco de agua (si añades demasiada lejía, los zapatos podrían volverse amarillos) y aplícala con un cepillo de dientes haciendo movimientos circulares. Cuando hayas terminado, utiliza un paño húmedo para limpiar la solución y deja secar durante al menos 5 horas.
Pasta de dientes: También puedes probar a utilizar pasta de dientes (del tipo blanco cremoso y no un gel coloreado).Aplícala por todo el zapato con movimientos circulares, prestando especial atención a las manchas más resistentes.Déjalo actuar durante 10 minutos antes de limpiarlo con una toalla húmeda y repite la operación si es necesario.
Warm soapy water: Good for cleaning shoes made from almost any material, just add about one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid to one cup of warm water and stir. Using a cloth or toothbrush, gently scrub the shoe until clean, wipe off any excess water and leave to air dry for several hours.
Baking soda and white vinegar: Great for canvas shoes but also works for other shoe types. Mix one tablespoon of hot water with one tablespoon of white vinegar and one tablespoon of baking soda together to form a paste. Using a toothbrush, apply to the shoes in a circular motion, then leave shoes to air for several hours before brushing and shaking off the dried paste.
Heavily diluted bleach: A very effective way to clean fabric shoes provided you do it in a well-ventilated location while protecting your skin and eyes. Create a cleaning solution made from one part bleach and five parts water (adding too much bleach could turn your shoes yellow), and work it into the shoes using a toothbrush in circular motions. When finished, use a damp cloth to wipe off the solution and leave to dry for at least 5 hours.
Toothpaste: You can also try using toothpaste (the white creamy type and not a coloured gel). Apply it to the entire shoe in a circular motion, paying extra attention to any heavy stains. Leave for 10 minutes before wiping away with a damp towel, then repeat if needed.
