Fue un privilegio que me dejara pasar la tarde con él mientras le daba los últimos retoques a su obra. En el taller de ANGEL FUSTER, en pleno corazón del madrileño barrio de Malasaña, se respira tranquilidad y armonía, la misma que se ve en sus ojos cuando describe sus cuadros, "pues no sé, yo veo formas y colores, muchos colores".
Y yo, sin ser un experto en pintura pero un amante de las cosas bellas, me siento pequeño ante tanta creación, diminuto junto a un gran artista, maravillado con este maestro de lo abstracto y por fin comprendo que son los hombres de apariencia sencilla los que hacen obras maravillosas.
It was a privilege for me to stay with him when he was giving some final touchs up to his last painting. At ANGEL FUSTER´s atelier, in the heart of Madrid hipster quarter, is possible to breathe calmness and armony, it´s the same feeling one can see in his eyes when he describes a portrait of his " well, I am not sure, all I see are shapeliness and colors, lot of colors".
And I am felling, without being a expert in painting but a big fan of beautiful things, small in front so many creations, tiny beside that big artist, speechless with one the master of the abstract art and finally I understand than ordinary men do wonderful things.
La tarde transcurre apacible y amable entre pasteles de zanahoria y té sin teína. Mientras le observo pintar no dejo de pensar en qué se le pasará por la cabeza. Sé que es un maestro de las formas, siluetas y los colores. Observo el cuadro y creo adivinar la figura de una mujer pero él me dice que no tiene claro si es hombre o mujer, que no pretende influir en nadie ni impresionarlo; sólo quiere expresarse de la mejor manera que sabe: pintando.
Entonces lo veo claro: a los genios hay que dejarlos crear, no interrumpirlos con preguntas vanales. Así que cojo mi cámara y fotografío para intentar ser testigo de un momento irrepetible.
Evening is going by peaceful and friendly with carrot cakes and deca-tea. I am trying to get into his head when he is painting. I see the portrait and I believe I noticing a female outline; but he tells me he is not sure if what it is being painting is male or female and he doesn´t want to impress or influence anyone. He just want to express himself painting.
So then, I realice genius have to be left alone to create. We shouldn´t add silly comments. So I take my camera and I do my pictures to try to be witness of a unique moment.
Angel Fuster es un artista reconocido tanto dentro como fuera de nuestras fronteras. Ha expuesto sus obras en galerias de España, Estados Unidos e Inglaterra. POr su dominio de las figuras y el color muchos críticos lo consideran el Gauguin español.Parte de su colección se puede apreciar en la galeria de arte del Queensboroug College de Nueva York y en diferentes colecciones particulares de Europa y Estados Unidos.
Estudia en el Estudio Arjona. Realiza su primera exposición individual en la Galería del Este, Valencia (1992), a la que siguen otras como las de las Galerías EME 04 (2010) y Orfila (2011), Madrid; Withney Amsterdam Gallery, New York (2013) y Galeria del Banco Interamericano, Washington (2014).

Angel Fuster is a wellknown Spanish artist who has exhibited in many galleries from Spain, USA and England. Many art critics talk about him as a Spanish Gauguin for his figures domain and glittering colors. Part of his collection can be seen at Queensborough College Art Gallery and in privates collections in Europe and USA.
He began studying at Arjona EStudio. He made his first solo exhibition at Galería del Este, Valencia (1992), Galerias EME 04 (2010) y Orfila (2011), Madrid; Withney Amsterdam Gallery, New York (2013) and Inter-American Development Bank Gallery, Washington (2014).
