Transmitir un mensaje poderoso en una sola imagen no es un ejercicio fácil. Encontrar el mensaje correcto y ponerlo en una escena impactante requiere mucha imaginación y, sobre todo, mucho conocimiento de la sociedad actual.
Eso es lo primero que pensé cuando vi estas ilustaciones en Instagram de Steffen Kraft. Cuanta verdad hay en ellas y cuanta hipocresia hay en nosotros, los humanos.
Y es que nos ha tocado vivir tiempos raros, en una época avanzada sí, pero también muchas veces irónica, extraña, incoherente e incluso hipócrita. Kraft es capaz de plasmarlo en sus dibujos sin miedo a ponernos enfrente de verdades que pueden ser cuanto menos incómodas y a menudo dolorosas.
Kraft consigue hacernos reflexionar a través de sus dibujos que, a primera vista, parecen mucho más inocente de lo que son.
Las ilustraciones de este artista alemán escuecen por certeras. El enganche a Internet y las redes sociales, el consumismo excesivo o el calentamiento global son algunos de los temas a los que Steffen hace referencia en su trabajo.

Sending a powerful message in a single image is not an easy exercise. Finding the right message and putting it in a powerful scene requires a lot of imagination and, especially, a lot of knowledge of current society.
That's the first thing I thought when I saw Steffen Kraft Instagram's drawings. They are so truthful and we humans are so hypocritical.
Certainly we are living in weird times, in an advanced era, but also often ironic, strange, incoherent and even hypocritical. Kraft is quite capable of capturing it in his drawings without fear of putting us in front of truths that can be at least uncomfortable and often painful.
Kraft manages to make us think through his drawings which, at first glance, seem much more innocent than they are.
The illustrations of this German artist burn with reason. Hookup to the Internet and social networks, excessive consumerism or global warming are some of the themes Steffen is referring to in his work.
