Pocas veces se tiene la oportunidad de ver aquí en España exposiciones sobre arte coreano. Nos llegan muchas cosas de otros países asiáticos como China o Japón pero de Corea poco o nada. Por eso cuando me enteré que el Centro Cultural de la Embajada coreana organizaba una muestra dedicada a la Feminidad, me picó la curiosidad y fui.
Como veis la exposición de la artista Jung Jongmee está plagada de colores vivos y alegres, desborda optimismo por los cuatro costados y dan ganas de coger el primer avión e irse a Corea porque te quedas con la ganas de más.
La muestra incluye pintura, ilustración e instalación con obras nacidas de la persistente investigación de la autora en materiales tradicionales autóctonos como la seda y el papel hanji o papel coreano, considerado como el más duradero del mundo.
Just a few times we have the opportunity to see here in Spain exhibitions on Korean art. We get many things from other Asian countries like China or Japan but from Korea just a little or even nothing. That's why when I heard that the Cultural Center of the Korean Embassy organized a show dedicated to Femininity, I was curious and went in.
As you can see the exhibition of the artist Jung Jongmee is full of bright and cheerful colors, it overflows optimism in every corner and makes you want to catch the first plane and go to Korea because you leave with the desire for more. The exhibition includes painting, illustration and installation with works born of the author's persistent research on traditional native materials such as silk and hanji paper or Korean paper, considered the most durable in the world.
Todas las obras son actuales pero realizadas según las tradiciones ancestrales de las mujeres en Corea. Aunque no lo parezca, están cargadas de simbolismo. Por ejemplo las rosas de papel de colores esparcidas por el suelo representa el amor, la esperanza y las lágrimas derramadas por las mujeres o el fabuloso panel de 5 colores simboliza la calma del alma tras un exorcismo.
Si estais por Madrid no os la perdais, merece la pena disfrutar del arte y el color de Corea. Creedme os quedareis con las ganas de más.
All works are current but made according to the ancestral traditions of women in Korea. Though it may not seem so, they are charged with symbolism. For example, colored paper roses scattered on the floor represent the love, hope and tears shed by women or the fabulous panel of 5 colors symbolizes the calm of the soul after an exorcism.
If you are in Madrid do not miss it, it is worth to enjoy the art and color of Korea.
