Si eres fan de la saga Star Wars (como yo) hay una exposición en Madrid que no te puedes perder por nada del mundo. Está en El Corte Inglés de Sanchinarro en Madrid y permanecerá abierta durante todo el mes de mayo.
Se trata de una muestra de artículos exclusivos y rarísimos objetos de coleccionista de la serie y, por lo tanto, imposibles de adquirir en el mercado convencional. Piezas únicas, licenciadas por Disney y dotadas de su correspondiente certificado de autenticidad que reproduce fielmente las características del universo Star Wars.
Las figuras forman parte de tiradas que oscilan entre las 25 y las 1.000 unidades y fueron adquiridas directamente del fabricante o a través del mercado secundario en Internet.

If you are a fan of the Star Wars franchise, like me, there is an exhibition in Madrid that you can not miss by any means. It is in El Corte Inglés de Sanchinarro in Madrid and will remain open throughout the month of May.
It is a unique and very rare collector's items from the series and, therefore, impossible to purchase in the conventional market. Unique pieces, licensed by Disney and endowed with its corresponding certificate of authenticity that faithfully reproduces the characteristics of the Star Wars universe.
The figures are part of runs ranging from 25 to 1,000 units and were acquired directly from the manufacturer or through the secondary market on the Internet.

Una de las piezas más exclusivas de la colección es la estatua de escala 1:1 de Darth Maul (Episodio I, La Amenaza Fantasma), ya que Gentle Giant solo fabricó 25 unidades en todo el mundo. Realizada con absoluto realismo en cada uno de sus detalles, esta figura del fiel servidor del Lord Oscuro Palpatine parece dispuesta a cobrar vida para atacar a su viejo enemigo Obi Wan Kenobi. También forma parte de una edición muy limitada, tan solo 50 unidades, el busto de Darth Vader a escala 1:1, que nos permite contemplar el rostro de Anakin Skywalker cuando se retira su máscara.
Otros artículos de la exposición que harán las delicias de los fans son el diorama Sala del Trono del Palacio de Jabba el Hutt formado por más de 10 figuras a escala 1:6 de Sideshow; la figura a escala 1:1 del mítico cazarrecompensas Boba Fett de Sideshow tal y como aparece en El Imperio Contraataca; el busto a escala 1:1 de del de su 'padre' Jango Fett, una edición limitada de 300 unidades, fabricada por Sideshow. Además de los artículos de la colección privada, también está expuesta una réplica de edición limitada del traje de Darth Vader de El Imperio Contrataca.
One of the most exclusive pieces of the collection is the 1:1 scale statue of Darth Maul (Episode I, The Phantom Menace), since Gentle Giant only manufactured 25 units worldwide. Made with absolute realism in every detail, this figure of the faithful servant of the Dark Lord Palpatine seems ready to come to life to attack his old enemy Obi Wan Kenobi. Also part of a very limited edition, only 50 units, is the 1:1 scale bust of Darth Vader, which allows us to contemplate the face of Anakin Skywalker when his mask is removed.
Other items in the exhibition that will delight fans are the Throne Room diorama of Jabba the Hutt's Palace made up of more than 10 1:6 scale figures from Sideshow; the 1:1 scale figure of the mythical bounty hunter Boba Fett from Sideshow as he appears in The Empire Strikes Back; the 1:1 scale bust of his 'father' Jango Fett, a limited edition of 300 units, manufactured by Sideshow. In addition to the private collection items, a limited edition replica of Darth Vader's costume from The Empire Strikes Back is also on display.
¿Y porqué llega ahora esta maravillosa exposición? Pues tiene una explicación lógica y sencilla. Todo se remonta a la década de los 70 cuando los fans declararon el 4 de mayo como día oficial de Star Wars. La razón se basó principalmente en que el principio de la frase más popular de las películas de Lucasfilm, “Que la fuerza te acompañe” (originalmente “May the force be with you”), se asemeja fonéticamente a la fecha en inglés. Desde entonces, este día, e incluso todo el mes de mayo, se presenta como la excusa perfecta para que los fans de todo el mundo rindan homenaje a la saga más famosa de la historia.

And why is this splendid exhibition arriving now? Well, it has a simple and logical explanation. It all dates back to the 1970s when fans declared May 4 as the official Star Wars Day. The reason was mainly based on the fact that the beginning of the most popular phrase of the Lucasfilm movies, "May the force be with you", is phonetically similar to the date in English. Since then, this day, and even the entire month of May, is presented as the perfect excuse for fans around the world to pay tribute to the most famous saga in history.
