Hace tan solo unos meses nunca hubiéramos imaginado que los balcones se convertirían en el centro neurálgico de nuestro mundo. En ese momento, que todos aún tenemos en la memoria, se tomaron miles de fotografías que ilustraban lo cotidiano y lo excepcional de una cuarentena que nos afectó a todos por igual.
Una selección de las mejores instantáneas del confinamiento las podemos ver durante todo el verano en el Retiro colgadas de las verjas que rodean al parque.
Es parte de la edición de este año de PHOtoESPAÑA. La cita anual de la fotografía ha arrancado de manera simbólica con #PHEdesdemibalcón, la gran iniciativa con la que invitaron a los ciudadanos a retratar la vida detenida del encierro y que ahora se exhibe en calles y plazas de toda España.
¿Qué vais a encontrar? Pues instataneas de familias pasando el rato en casa, gente dejando un metro con el de delante en la cola del supermercado, disfraces, galletas horneadas en casa, trabajadores con mascarilla y guantes desinfectando la capital cada pocas horas...lo excepcional convertido en cotidiano.
Just a few months ago we would never have thought that balconies would become the hub of our world. That moment, which we all still have in our memories, thousands of photographs were taken illustrating the everyday and the exceptional nature of a quarantine that affected us all equally.
A selection of the best pictures of the confinement can be seen throughout the summer in the Retiro hanging from the gates that surround the park.
It is part of this year's edition of PhotoEspaña. The annual photography event has started symbolically with #PHEdesdemibalcón, a great invitation to citizens to portray the life in confinement that is now being exhibited in streets and squares all over Spain.
What will you be finding? Well, snapshots of families hanging out at home, people leaving a subway with the one in front of them in line at the supermarket, costumes, cookies baked at home, workers wearing masks and gloves disinfecting the capital every few hours... the exceptional turned into an everyday life.
#PHEdesdemibalcón es algo parecido a un retrato colectivo y anónimo de nuestra sociedad desde el confinamiento: del asombro a la curiosidad, del puro aburrimiento a los retazos de la vida cotidiana.
Hay muchos ejemplos que llaman la atención, como el de la madrileña Ana Corrales que fotografió a su hijo Alfonso cuando el viento hizo volar su capa de Superman. Una captura que se ha convertido en una de las ganadoras del concurso online del certamen.
También nos asomamos a través del objetivo al desparpajo de Manuel y Mari Paz, que salieron al balcón vestidos de flamencos para celebrar la Feria de Abril.
Muchas instantáneas encuadran edificios en posturas imposibles, naturaleza- hay flores muchas flores- juegos de luces atrapados con los dedos o la noche callada en campos y ciudades. Fotografías que también son acercamiento emocional en un universo común trastocado por el Covid-19.
#PHEdesdemibalcón is something like a collective and anonymous portrait of our society from confinement: from astonishment to curiosity, from pure boredom to the scraps of everyday life.
There are many striking examples, such as that of Ana Corrales from Madrid who photographed her son Alfonso when the wind blew his Superman cape off. A capture that has become one of the winners of the online contest of the event.
We also look through the lens at Manuel and Mari Paz, who came out to the balcony dressed as flamenco performers to celebrate the April Fair.
Many snapshots frame buildings in impossible positions, nature - there are many flowers - games of light caught in the fingers or the quiet night in fields and cities. Photographs that are also an emotional approach in a common universe disrupted by the Covid-19.
Según los de PHotoESPAÑA a su cuenta de Instagram llegaron más de 60.000 imágenes y detrás de cada una, la mirada de los ciudadanos desde ventanas y balcones. Lo que que veis es una selección de 2.450 fotografías que se exponen al aire libre en plazas, puentes y parques durante todo el verano en 50 ciudades españolas.
