Estaréis de acuerdo conmigo en que comprar un reloj puede convertirse en una ardua tarea. Por lo general tendemos a gastar un poco más de lo habitual para asegurarnos una pieza de alta calidad que nos vaya a durar y ahí es donde radica el dilema.
Quién no ha entrado en una relojería y al cabo de 15 minutos ya no sabe uno si el que más le ha gustado a sido el primero, el de en medio, el de esta marca, el de aquella ...Y la cosa puede llegar a agravarse si pensamos en algunas de sus partes como esferas, manecillas, si es sumergible o no, si es cronógrafo, si tiene cronómetro o pantallas GMT; todo esto nos puede llegar a confudir realmente por lo que te recomiendo una solución: apostar por lo minimalista.
Ya sé que las últimas tecnologías mandan y decantarse por lo simple y lo sencillo no siempre convence pero la eficacia, el aplomo y el saber estar de un reloj minimalista no tiene parangón.

Sekford Type 1A Stainless Steel
El Sekford es de mis preferidos por incorporar el minutero en la esfera ( como en lo relojes de nuestros abuelos) Es curioso ver como el concepto de simplicidad y minimalismo adquieren en esta marca una nueva dimensión mucho más clara y funcional. Lo único malo es el precio. Demasiado caro para lo que ofrece.
A step up into the upper echelons of horological minimalism is the Sekford Type 1A. The missing seconds hand does more for the simplicity of the piece than I think the designers thought it would, as it brings home the true essence of minimalism in watches. The small numerals, and equally small hours/minutes hand does wonders for the simplicity of the piece, but I’m afraid the price tag for a Quartz watch is a bit of a deterrent.
Projects 7404 Unisex 5 O’Clock Watch
Este reloj es la esencia viva del minimalismo con una clase que llama la atención. No hay mucho más en este reloj salvo esa 5 en punto que destaca por encima de todo. Me encanta el juego de tonos blancos y negros que impera en todo el conjunto. Una pieza única y muy bella.
A ridiculously basic looking piece that really brings home the notion of minimalism. There isn’t much going on with this watch, apart from the applied logo and super cool date window at 5 o’clock. The exposed crown breaks up the other monolithic case design and looks pretty cool doing so.
Huckleberry & Co. Archibald Atticus in Rose Gold
Esta marca australiana ya os la he mencionado en otros post y a mi, la verdad, me chifla. Este reloj en color rosado es muy difícil de encontrar por lo que le hace una pieza de alto valor. Cuando lo ves pareces que estás delante de un mecanismo de alta precisión y, de hecho, está lleno de pequeños detalles que todo reloj debería tener. Es maravilloso.
An Australian brand that I have featured prior to this article, and a brand that I am keeping my eye on. Bauhaus styling in a package that is timeless and simple, the Archibald Atticus should be what every minimalist-watchmaker should strive to replicate. Gorgeous detailing, exception proportions and a mechanical movement. Need I say more?
Komono – The Walther Tobacco
Los belgas de Komono se ha vuelto a superar a sí mismos con esta serie de relojes minimalistas. Una esfera y un interior de dos colores, el blanco y el dorado clásico, le da al reloj una gran profundidad y dimensión. El segundero y el minutero en diminuto son añadidos que le aportan valor a la pieza.
A minimal watch definitely does not have to be boring. With The Walthre, Komono has kept a clean white face with subtle elements to give the watch some nice depth and dimension. The gold case and features give this watch a more premium feel to others.

Y para terminar os enseño Mondaine, marca suiza poco conocida aún pero que pasito a pasito va ganando terreno . Su Helvetic No1 Light es otro ejemplo de proporciones maravillosas, diseño ordenado y lengüetas integradas que se mezclan muy bien en todo el reloj. Una gran pieza para todos los amantes de los relojes minimalistas
Mondaine are renowned for making absurdly simple watches that function well and look great. The Helvetic No1 Light is another example of why that brand does so well. Wonderful proportions, ample dial real estate, an uncluttered layout and integrated lugs that blend really well into the case. A great piece for all you minimalists out there.
