Creo que después de probar los deliciosos cócteles hechos con Glenfiddich junto con los exclusivos bocados cocinados por 5 chefs de nuestro país puedo afirmar una cosa con rotundidad: ha nacido un nuevo maridaje, el de los cócteles con whisky y las tapas.
Y es que en este mundo tan “fusionado” no es de extrañar que algo aparentemente tan distante cuando lo mezclamos el resultado sea asombrosamente bueno. Claro está que hay que saber hacerlo. Por eso Glenfiddich ha buscado durante meses el tamdem bartender/barman que realicen el maridaje perfecto entre una tapa y un cóctel de la destilaría escocesa. La competición ha sido dura y tras una emocionante final llevada a cabo en el Teatro Príncipe Pío el triunfo se lo han llevado el barman David Kandinsky y el chef Toni Mayor.
I think that after trying the delicious cocktails made with Glenfiddich along with the exclusive snacks cooked by 5 chefs of our country I can affirm one thing : a new pairing has been born, the one with whiskey cocktails and Spanish tapas.
I believe that in this world so "merged” it is not surprising that something with nothing in common at the first sight when we mix them the final result is amazingly good. El cóctel lo han bautizado como BEUL-AITHRIS ( que significa tradición en gaélico) y es el maridaje de un combinado de este whiskey y una sofisticada tapa con pera, jengibre y pez limón que nos transportan a Escocia en cada sorbo y bocado.

The cocktail has been called BEUL-AITHRIS (meaning tradition in Gaelic) and it is the pairing of a combination of this whiskey and a sophisticated tapa made with pear, ginger and lemon fish that transport us to Scotland in every sip and bite.
Me parece a mi que estamos asistiendo al nacimiento de una nueva moda gastronómica que dará mucho de que hablar en los próximos años. La fusión entre los combinados con whisky y las tapas es, sin duda, un intento más de los destilados de sacar a los cócteles del sector “copas” en nuestro país e introducirlos en el variado mundo de las tapas pero con un toque más selecto y sofisticado.
A mí desde luego ya me han ganado porque ambas propuestas juntas son perfectamente compatibles y, sobre todo, muy sabrosas.
It seems to me that we are witnessing the birth of a new gastronomic fashion that we will hear a lot about it in the coming years. The fusion between whiskey and tapas is undoubtedly one more attempt by distillers to take cocktails from “drinks" sector in Spain and introduce them into the great world of tapas but with a select and sophisticated touch.
I am already fun of this fusion because both proposals together are perfectly compatible and, above all, very tasty.
