Parecía que nunca iba a llegar el momento y, por fin, lo podemos decir con rotundidad: los musicales vuelven a la escena madrileña con una fuerza inusitada y con ganas de comerse el mundo.
Y es que la cultura ha sido uno de los sectores más afectados por la pandemia. Durante año y medio, los conciertos, las salas de cine, los teatros, las librerías... todos han sufrido primero parones y luego restricciones de aforo que han impedido que el público se acerque a las salas. Ahora podemos asistir de nuevo a la apertura de los teatros de la Gran Vía, que estrenan una atractiva temporada llena de novedades y, por supuesto clásicos, como El Rey León.
Después de cierres precipitados, ERTES, devoluciones de entradas y millones de cosas más es el momento de que vuelvan a subir los telones para volver a disfrutar de los grandes musicales.

After rushed shutdowns, ERTES, ticket refunds and a million other things, it's time for the theaters to raise the curtains again to enjoy the great musicals.

El luminoso del teatro Lope de Vega, que desde marzo pasado se mantenía con el mensaje “¡Volveremos pronto!”, anuncia ya la vuelta de El rey león con este lema: “El sol vuelve a brillar”. Es el primero de los grandes en volver a la Gran Vía, después de exactamente 562 días con el telón bajado, algo que nunca había ocurrido antes ni siquiera en tiempos de la guerra civil. En el Coliseum, donde se representaba Anastasia cuando estalló la pandemia, cuelga el cartel de Tina, la nueva producción de Stage, que se estrenará el 1 de octubre. En el Rialto se presentará The Full Monty el 22 de octubre. Al EDP regresará el 29 de septiembre Ghost, que estaba en cartel cuando se decretó el cierre en marzo del año pasado. No lejos pero fuera ya de la Gran Vía, en el Nuevo Teatro Alcalá, llegará de nuevo Grease, cuya apertura está prevista para el 2 de octubre. Y en el Calderón, a partir del 8 de octubre se verá A Chorus Line, la producción con la que Antonio Banderas inauguró su teatro de Málaga en noviembre de 2019.

Y en Barcelona, el otro gran foco de producción de musicales en España, aunque mucho menos ligado al turismo, se preparan también estrenos. Además de la llegada de Billy Elliot, uno de los más esperados es Cantando bajo la lluvia, que se presentará el 15 de septiembre en el Tívoli. Dirigido por Àngel Llàcer y Manu Guix, responsables de éxitos pasados como La jaula de las locas y La tienda de los horrores.
Y a nosotros, los espectadores, nos toca poner nuestro granito de arena en la reapertura de los teatros y musicales y acudir en masa a las salas para que hacer resurgir la cultura en nuestro país.
