Pocas instalaciones artísticas te dejan tan boquiabierto como esta. Se encuentra en el Centro Cultural Conque Duque de Madrid y aunque, a primera vista, parezca que una roca gigante está sujetando las paredes , en realidad se trata de un enorme trozo de plástico que no hace absolutamente nada; es falso.
Esa es la reflexión que pretende que hagamos Amparo Sard, la creadora de esta instalación temporal, donde (a su juicio) la realidad, la ficción, la verdad y la postverdad se confunden en una deriva insondable.
La obra se llama Rompiendo el Mar y para verla detenidamente tendréis que descender las escaleras de la impresionante Sala de Bóvedas del Conde Duque. Allí se encuentra esta instalación visualmente incomoda, por su color, sus proporciones y, sobre todo, por su precaria posición. La obra está hecha con desechos de plástico y materializa la terrible amenaza que pende sobre nosotros y que nosotros mismos hemos producido.
Merece la pena verla.
Few art installations will leave you as speechless as this one. Located at the Centro Cultural Conque Duque in Madrid and even though, at first glance, it seems as if a giant rock is holding up the walls, it is actually a huge piece of plastic that does absolutely nothing; it is fake.
That is the reflection that Amparo Sard, the maker of this temporary installation, where (in her opinion) reality, fiction, truth and post-truth are confused in an unfathomable drift.
The work is called Rompiendo el Mar (Breaking the Sea) and in order to see it in detail you will have to descend the stairs of the impressive Sala de Bóvedas at Conde Duque. There you will find this visually uncomfortable installation, because of its color, its proportions and, above all, its precarious position. The work is made from plastic waste and materializes the terrible threat that hangs over us and that we ourselves have produced.
It is worth seeing.
La instalación de Amparo Sard indaga en la evolución de las relaciones sociales y medioambientales. La autora ha compuesto una exhibición a partir de trozos de materiales de desecho y reciclado hasta generar un mar roto, una serie de fragmentos que tienen caras brillantes y bellas que ocultan los residuos que el océano engulle diariamente con unas consecuencias terribles de las que desconocemos su verdadero alcance, pero que parecen conducirnos hacia la asfixia individual, hacia el suicidio colectivo.
La podréis ver en el Conde Duque de Madrid hasta el próximo 18 de julio. No so dejará indiferente.
Amparo Sard's installation explores the evolution of social and environmental relations. The author has composed an exhibition from pieces of waste and recycled materials to generate a broken sea, a series of fragments that have bright and beautiful faces that hide the waste that the ocean swallows daily with terrible consequences of which we do not know its true scope, but that seem to lead us towards individual asphyxia, towards collective suicide.
You can see it at the Conde Duque in Madrid until July 18. You will not be left indifferent.
