No estoy muy seguro si fue el London Eye en 1992 la que inauguró la moda de poner norias permanentes en las ciudades como un reclamo turístico más. Os reconozco que, al principio, yo era uno de esos enemigos acérrimos de las norias gigantescas. Las consideraba una especie de atentado urbanístico, algo pegado con cola... pero, cosas de la vida, he cambiado de opinión. Ahora me encantan. Veo en ellas una oportunidad maravillosa de disfrutar las ciudades desde las alturas y, si son como esta de Singapur, la diversión está garantizada.

I'm not quite sure if it was The London Eye in 1992 the one that started a new trend of placing permanent big wheels in the cities as a tourist attraction. I have to admit that, at the beginning, I was one of those staunch enemies of the gigantic Ferris wheels. I considered them a kind of urbanistic attack, something pasted with glue but, as life goes by, I have changed my mind. Now I love them. I see them as a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the cities from the heights and, if they are like this one in Singapore, fun is guaranteed.

Como habéis visto es una noria, pero también un mirador que fue inaugurado en el 2008. Merece la pena pagar el billete de unos 35 euros para contemplar desde arriba las impresionantes y modernistas construcciones de la ciudad, una urbe que ha tenido un notable desarrollo en las últimas décadas y que es una suerte de síntesis entre Shangay, Miami y Nueva York.
