Lo que estáis viendo (seguramente con la boca abierta) es el Bosco Verticale (el Bosque Vertical), uno de los edificios más originales del mundo. Lo verde que sale de sus balcones no son plantas o jardineras enormes sino árboles, cientos de árboles que cuelgan de cada piso proyectando la idea de que estamos ante de un arquitectónico y gigantesco bosque urbano, un novedoso concepto de reforestación de nuestras ciudades.
Fue Stefano Boeri el que diseñó y construyó en 2014 este singular edificio en Milán (Italia) que se ha convertido en poco tiempo en toda una oda contra el cambio climático y en la idea de que otro concepto de ciudad es posible.
Él mismo ha contado en numerosas ocasiones que se le ocurrió esta novedosa idea tras visitar Dubai y percatarse que la mayoría de las torres estaban revestidas de vidrio y metal. En rechazo a las ciudades minerales, el diseñador inició en 2008 un proyecto para crear dos torres revestidas de plantas y árboles, algo completamente inédito hasta la fecha.
El resultado es el que veis, dos magnos edificios totalmente sostenibles con el medio ambiente, que ayudan a regular la temperatura de la ciudad y que, además, son preciosos.
You are looking at the Bosco Verticale (the Vertical Forest), one of the most original buildings in the world. The green that comes out of its balconies are not plants or huge planters but trees, hundreds of trees hanging from each floor projecting the idea that we are in front of an architectural and gigantic urban forest, a new concept of reforestation of our cities.
It was Stefano Boeri who designed and built in 2014 this unique building that has become in a short time an ode against climate change and the idea that another concept of city is possible.
He himself has told on numerous occasions that he came up with this novel idea after visiting Dubai and noticing that most of the towers were clad in glass and metal. In rejection of mineral cities, the designer initiated in 2008 a project to create two towers covered with plants and trees, something completely unprecedented to date.
As a result, you can see, two magnificent buildings that are totally environmentally sustainable, help regulate the city's temperature and are also beautiful.
Bosco Verticale es, literalmente, un bosque vertical. Busca limpiar el aire gracias a la naturaleza y, literalmente, lo consigue. En los más de 100 apartamentos que forman este complejo encontramos 11.000 plantas, 5.000 arbustos, 300 árboles pequeños y otros 500 grandes. Un auténtico bosque en altura de casi 3 hectáreas que transforma unas 30 toneladas de dióxido de carbono en oxígeno, protege de la radiación solar gracias a las hojas de sus árboles, ayuda a generar un microclima especial, provoca más humedad, protege del viento y también atenúa la contaminación acústica. Las plantas son buenas para todo.
Con el cambio de las estaciones, las variaciones de color y forma de la vegetación crean un gran hito iridiscente, reconocible incluso desde la distancia: una característica que en pocos años ha generado la imagen del Bosco Verticale como el nuevo símbolo de Milán.
Bosco Verticale is literally a vertical forest. It seeks to clean the air thanks to nature and, literally, it succeeds. In the more than 100 apartments that make up this complex there are 11,000 plants, 5,000 shrubs, 300 small trees and 500 large trees. A real forest in height of almost 3 hectares that transforms about 30 tons of carbon dioxide into oxygen, protects from solar radiation thanks to the leaves of its trees, helps to generate a special microclimate, causes more humidity, protects from wind and also attenuates noise pollution. Plants are good for everything.
As the seasons change, the variations in color and shape of the vegetation create a large iridescent landmark, recognizable even from a distance: a feature that in just a few years has generated the image of the Bosco Verticale as the new symbol of Milan.

Este bosque vertical es el más grande del mundo y se encuentra en Milán pero Stefano Boeri ya está trabajando en nuevos bosques verticales en Europa. Casi 30, localizados en ciudades como Barcelona, Frankfurt, París ... y en China, incluida una ambiciosa ciudad forestal en la ciudad de Nanjing.
Mientras tanto, proyectos similares se están proponiendo y desarrollando todo el tiempo, desde un rascacielos en espiral en Taiwán que se espera contenga 23.000 árboles hasta el Trudo Vertical Forest en Strijp-S, Eindhoven, Holanda.
